South Students Practice Respect
Posted on 11/12/2018
As part of our implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), our elementary schools decided to take on a project which would show respect for others. Respect is one of our four core values for our schools, along with kindness, safety and responsibility. Our students gathered up requested items for our troops serving overseas. Most boxes were full of lip balm, flavored drinking packets, homemade cards and various hygiene products. We were very lucky to have personnel at Prairie Ridge Hospital help our efforts by contributing batteries, toothpaste, lip balm, talcum powder and wipes. On Friday, November 9, we mailed 12 packages from South and 19 from North off to California where the headquarters of Operation Gratitude is located. The organization will sort the donations and send them off to soldiers in need serving overseas. We gathered more items than we ever expected and are proud to say our first project was an overwhelming success. This success would not have been possible without the support of our families and communities, so we sincerely thank you for your support.
