Kindergarten Connection Practices Valuable Skills
Posted on 12/07/2018
Students in Mrs. Nadgwick’s Kindergarten Connection class spend the majority of their school day engaged in play. Through play, the four- and five-year-old students discover and conduct their own research, forming conclusions about various concepts like numbers and patterns, gravity and balance, and careers and parenting. Most recently, the students have collaborated to invent their own game, written letters to Santa, and opened up a bakery. Santa’s Workshop opened this week, too! The students have wrapped and presented gifts to one another demonstrating their ability to show kindness to others. By creating experiences for the Kindergarten Connection students to explore and play with one another, their social and emotional skills are developing. These skills that help them get along with each other will serve them well as they enter kindergarten.
